VARL operates programs in critical infrastructure and biological research. If you believe you are witnessing a biosafety event, an infrastructure failure, a security breach, or any situation that poses an immediate risk to people or systems, contact Emergency Response. The line is staffed 24 hours a day, every day, and reports are acknowledged within minutes. Where required, VARL coordinates directly with public health authorities, regulators, and law enforcement. For non-urgent matters, use Contact.
Security researchers can report vulnerabilities in VARL systems, models, and infrastructure through Security Research. We follow coordinated disclosure, do not pursue legal action against good-faith research conducted within scope, and publish acknowledgments with the researcher’s consent. Encrypted reporting is available.
Significant incidents affecting safety, security, or the integrity of published results are disclosed publicly in the Transparency Report, including what happened, who was affected, and what changed as a result.
All biological work is conducted at the appropriate containment level under institutional biosafety oversight and in accordance with WHO guidance and applicable national law. VARL does not pursue research whose primary foreseeable use is to cause harm, and reviews dual-use concerns before work begins. See Biosafety & Biosecurity.
Participation in VARL clinical studies and research programs is voluntary and requires informed consent. Studies are reviewed by an independent ethics committee before enrollment begins. Participants may withdraw at any time. Health and biological data are protected under the Participant Privacy policy.

VARL models are tools that support human judgment. They are not used to make autonomous decisions in clinical care or critical infrastructure operations, and their known limitations are documented in Safety & Validation.
This site contains forward-looking statements about research directions, timelines, and expected outcomes. They reflect current plans and assumptions, involve risks and uncertainties, and are not guarantees. Actual results may differ.
Programs, technologies, and research access differ by country and region, reflecting local regulation, clinical and biosafety requirements, and infrastructure partnerships.
